Oasis

Designing the first mobile experience for a luxury real estate co-ownership platform

Overview

Oases is a luxury real estate co-ownership platform designed to help property shareholders manage reservations and access exclusive vacation properties through a mobile experience.

Role

The first version of the product focused on creating a mobile-first client area where co-owners could view property information, manage reservations, and follow usage rules defined by the business. The experience also included reservation reminders, authentication flows, and operational notifications for the internal Oases team.

The Challenge

Oases needed to create the first mobile experience for property co-owners while translating complex reservation rules into a simple and intuitive workflow.

As an early-stage product, the platform had to balance operational constraints, reservation management, and premium usability within a limited initial scope focused on mobile devices.

Product Structuring

Oases was a closed-scope project with clearly defined business requirements and deliverables from the beginning. The client already had a strong understanding of the operational flows and core screens needed for the first version of the product.

The project started with foundational flows such as authentication before moving into the core reservation experience for property co-owners.

Designing the Reservation Experience

The reservation flow became the central and most complex part of the product experience.

Oases operated with different reservation categories — including holidays and vacation periods — each with specific booking rules and availability constraints. One of the main challenges was helping users understand these distinctions directly within the calendar experience without creating confusion or cognitive overload.

To support this, the calendar interface used visual indicators and color-coded states to distinguish reservation types and availability conditions. Supporting guidance elements, including contextual legends and rule visibility shortcuts, were introduced to help users understand the booking system directly within the flow.

Managing Active Reservations

Beyond booking creation, the experience was designed to support the full reservation lifecycle.

Late check-out eligibility

This was added along the project and the experience needed to clearly communicate when extended stays were available and when they were restricted, while maintaining consistency with the operational rules defined by Oases.

Within the “Bookings” area, users could access upcoming and past reservations, view stay details, contact the concierge team, invite guests through WhatsApp, and manage cancellations directly within the app.

Final Thoughts

This project reinforced an important lesson: even when requirements are clearly defined, meaningful design impact comes from how complexity is translated into clarity.

The navigation and information architecture prioritized simplicity, allowing users to quickly access their property information, reservations, and account details

The final result established the first mobile experience for Oases, creating a foundation that could support future growth while providing co-owners with a seamless way to manage their stays.
